Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Is Saturday, May 14

On Saturday, May 14, as letter carriers deliver mail, they will pick up non-perishable food donations left at customers’ mailboxes.  The food will be collected and delivered to local food banks.  Employees can participate by leaving food at their mailboxes, or by placing food in bins at Post Offices.

Postal employees and customers have contributed more than one billion pounds of non-perishable food since the program began in 1993, and the Food Drive has become the nation’s largest one-day campaign to collect food for distribution to those in need.

District Manager Eric Chavez (above) thanked employees for making Suncoast the top collecting district in the nation for the last seven years.

Suncoast employees have been instrumental in the Food Drive’s success.  We collected over 6.4 million pounds of food last year, which was more food than any district in the nation – and more food than the entire State of California!

By supporting this year’s Food Drive, Suncoast employees can once again make a huge difference for those who depend on local food banks to feed their families.  Let’s make this year’s Food Drive the best yet!
