Orlando Postmaster Timothy
Holmes (right) presented South Creek Letter
Carrier Assistant Heidy Ovalle (left) with the Postmaster General Hero Award
Certificate and a Bronze Eagle trophy for assisting a customer on her route. Ovalle
was driving her postal vehicle when she saw a customer in an electric wheelchair stuck in the
rain. His wheelchair had quit working. Ovalle stopped her vehicle,
covered the customer with her raincoat and pushed him to the library for
cover. She then called his wife, who said she would come and pick him up.
Postmaster Timothy Holmes
(right) and left to right, Manager Customer
Service Operations Lewis Nimmons; National Association of Letter Carriers
President Dan Tegreeny; and Manager, Customer
Services Michelle Barresi were present to congratulate Ovalle on her award.
Thank you for looking out for
our customers, Heidy!
