Lunar New Year Stamp Event

The district held a stamp dedication event as part of the Fifth Annual Central Florida Dragon Parade and Lunar New Year Festival in Orlando. Customer Relations Coordinator (CRC) Deborah Vick (right) presented an enlargement of the Year of the Monkey Forever stamp to representatives from  REACH (Recognizing Educating Asian Cultural Heritage) of Central Florida (left) and Y.E.S.S. (Youth Enrichment and Senior Services) (second, right). The Lunar New Year Monkey (far left) jumped on stage to help celebrate the Lunar New Year stamp.

 Sand Lake Retail Associate Karen Brown (right) and Vick (left) sold the Lunar New Year stamps and First Day of Issue Caches. The day was a cultural delight and $600 was raised in new revenue.



The Year of the Monkey stamp is the ninth of 12 stamps in the Celebrating Lunar New Year stamp series.  It is issued as a souvenir sheet of 12 self-adhesive Forever stamps. The Year of the Monkey began February 8 and ends January 27, 2017.
