Recognizing Toni

Naples Main Office Rural Carrier Toni Staples (second, right) was recognized for assisting an elderly customer who was in danger.   Postmaster Richard Barber (left) and Supervisors, Customer Services Julian McNeal (second, left) and Michael Felix (right) honored Staples in front of her co-workers.

Staples had completed her route and was going to her private vehicle to leave for the day when she heard screaming coming from the customer parking lot.  She found an elderly lady sitting in the passenger seat of a car that was slowly moving backwards towards six lanes of traffic.  Staples noticed the car was out of gear and quickly jumped in the driver’s seat and stopped the car.  Her prompt actions prevented a possible collision and injuries.

Way to go, Toni!
