Palatka Postal Pulse #1

The Palatka Post Office received the highest score in the Suncoast District on the Postal Pulse Survey.  The score was 4.49 out of a possible 5.  In an effort to share the secrets of their success, Ambassador Communications Program Manager Dee Rhodes asked employees what makes the Palatka Post Office such a great place to work.  Their responses are below.

Postmaster Rick Pasek (above): “The employees work very well together and help each other.  They all take ownership of their jobs.  Our two custodians do a tremendous job daily cleaning and maintaining the neatness and professional look of the Post Office.  I feel that has a positive effect on the employees overall.  Management effectively keeps the employees engaged with constant communication.”

Letter Carrier Deborah Clark (above): “It’s a small family type station.  We all get along well with one another so it makes for a great working environment.”

Rural Carrier Sherry Cook (above):  “The pride and team effort, our employees can get along and have a good laugh to brighten the day.  Our people, especially the carriers -including the subs - work well as an overall team.  We can trust our supervisors to help us out in most any situation.”

Letter Carrier Kevin Miller (above):  “This office is small.  Everybody knows and respects one another.  It really is like family.  At this time, management, in my opinion, is the best we’ve had in the 19 years that I’ve been here.  That’s nice, especially since I retire in September.”

City Carrier Assistant Megan Thayer (above):  “Palatka is a great place to work because it is such a small town.  Everyone knows everyone and is so friendly.  It makes you look forward to getting out there to deliver the mail so that you can see everyone.  It’s like customers look forward to seeing you as much as you look forward to seeing them.”

Letter Carrier Dean Parrish (above): “The managers and employees take pride in their work.  We just try to do our jobs which we know contributes to the whole.  Plus, as an office, we really do have a good sense of humor.”

City Carrier Assistant Kimberly Moore above: “Coworkers are supportive of you. The Supervisor and Postmaster are interactive with workers and are there for you when you need it.  And, they are funny.”

Letter Carrier Mona Lee (above):  “Because we are all like family and we enjoy being a team.”

Rural Carrier Associate Azalee Bellamy (above):  “We are a close knit community and we stand together like family.  We support one another during any crisis, and the job is like our home away from home.”

Rural Carrier Anita Fricke (above):  “We all work together.  Our goal is giving our customers the best service.  A lot of our customers are like family.”

A/Supervisor Customer Services Carrie “Candy” Stallings above:  “Palatka has the best team. Management and I keep a positive attitude for the team to follow.  Management lets us know what the goals are and how well we are doing on a regular basis.  Love my customers, too.”

Postal Support Employee (PSE) Clerk Esther Rayburn (not pictured):  “I’m thankful for the opportunity of having such a valuable role as a customer service specialist representing such a diverse company.”
