The
Postal Service works closely with Supervisors of Election around the nation to
ensure political mail is prepared and handled properly.
Pictured at the recent Orange County Supervisor of Elections Annual
Candidate Seminar are (left to right) Suncoast District Political Mail
Coordinator/Manager, Business Mail Entry Don Dease; USPS Senior Field Sales Representative (FSR) Emory
Rothell; USPS Senior Sales Executive Aaron Michael; Orange County Supervisor of Elections Bill
Cowles; and Orange County Director of Elections Cindy Clark. Approximately 70 people were in attendance, including
current commissioners, elected officials, candidates and representatives. Dease
thanked the group for inviting the Postal Service and explained how important the
political mail guidelines are to the campaigning process.
USPS
Senior Sales Executive Aaron Michael (above) was a featured speaker at the
seminar. He presented information and
tips on how to use the Domestic Mail Manual (DMM) and EDDM (Every Door Direct
Mail) for successful political campaigns and other business ventures. Folders with political mailing information was
handed out and attendees participated in a question and answer session. The
presentation was so successful that the Postal Service has been invited to
return during the next election cycle to present again.
