In The Pink

Suncoast District Post Offices are increasing awareness of the Breast Cancer Research Stamp. Since its inception in 1998, the stamp has raised more than $83 million for breast cancer research.  October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Polk City Postmaster Don Elrod (second right) was joined by, left to right, Rural Carriers Nick Harvey and Diane Armstrong, Retail Associate Nina Patel and Rural Carrier Maeghan Bryant to showcase their pink lobby.

Odessa Retail Associates (left to right) Evie Rein, Amy Alley, Kim Gilroy, and Rene Lala used handmade decorations to transform their lobby in to a pink oasis.  “The Odessa Team is the best,” said Postmaster Michael A. Fernandez.

Sun City Center Sales, Service and Distribution Associate Dimas “Albert” Latorre (center) points out the “Positively Pink” board where customers purchasing a sheet of stamps can attach a ribbon “in memory of” a person of their choice, as Postmaster Tina Cochrane (right) and Supervisor, Customer Services Buddy Batchelder (left) look on.  Cochrane, Batchelder, Custodian Andy Mclendon and City Carrier Wadie Barrios’ wife decorated the pink lobby.
