Port Richey Postmaster Brian Strasser (left) and NALC President Al
Friedman (center) were honored to accept a Proclamation from Pasco County
Commissioners (above) declaring May 13, 2017 as Stamp Out Hunger Day in Pasco
County.
The commissioners praised the Postal Service and its employees for
the amazing service they perform by collecting donated food from Pasco County
citizens to help stock local food pantries.
The food helps feed less fortunate residents throughout the year. Last year over 460,000 pounds of food was
collected by Pasco County Letter and Rural Carriers.
This year is the 25th anniversary of the NALC Food Drive. Across the nation postal carriers will
collect food left at mailboxes as they deliver mail on Saturday, May 13.
