The Orlando Post Office
presented the Total Eclipse of the Sun Forever
stamp to the Orlando Science Center
(OSC). Postmaster Timothy Holmes (second, right) and Customer Relations
Coordinator Deborah Ferencak (left) presented the enlarged stamp to OSC Vice
President of Marketing Jeff Stanford (right). The OSC scheduled a program on
eclipses and the stamp dedication was the grand finale. A total solar eclipse
will happen in the U.S. on August 21.
The stamp is the first stamp
printed by the Postal Service to use thermochromic ink, which reacts to the
heat of your finger. The eclipse image transforms into an image of the moon
when touched. Children and adults were
amazed to touch the stamp and watch the eclipse turn into an image of the moon.
