The Orlando Post
Office is one of fifteen Post Offices nationwide that participates in the
Operation Santa program to fulfill the dreams of children whose families need
assistance. Postal employees and the
general public are invited to “adopt” Santa letters and grant the child’s wish.
Families and
children who need holiday assistance write letters to Operation Santa. Employees and customers read the letters and choose
which families they would like to adopt. They purchase the wish, wrap the
presents and bring them back to the Post Office
to mail to the adopted families.

A local company adopted
several letters and were all smiles delivering the gifts to the Post Office. One customer (back right) stated, “We had such a fun
time buying and wrapping the presents that we
plan on doing it again next year.”
A group of friends got
together to adopt a few families. The friends all went shopping together and enlisted the help of other children in the toy store
to pick out the presents.
Thank you to everyone who adopted
a letter and made the holidays much happier for
29 families.
