Lunar New Year Stamp Dedication

Orlando Postmaster Diane Tindle (right) presented an enlarged Year of the Dog Forever stamp at the 7th Annual Central Florida Dragon Parade Lunar New Year Festival held in Orlando.

The Dog is the 11th stamp in the series, which will continue through 2019. The artwork depicts an arrangement of lucky bamboo and a lozenge-shaped piece of red paper with the Chinese character “fu” – meaning “good fortune” – rendered in calligraphy, which is a common decoration on doors and entry ways during the festivities.

“I’m proud to say our stamp program demonstrates our nation’s deep regard for its rich and complex heritage,” stated Postmaster Tindle.
