Tampa Processing & Distribution Center (P&DC) Electronic
Technician Joseph Pelayo (second right) received a Special Achievement and Spot
Award from left to right, Supervisor Maintenance Operations Dale Phillips, Lead
Maintenance Manager Joe Beiter and Supervisor Maintenance Operations Desai
Abdul-Razzaaq for outstanding performance in the duties and responsibilities of
an electronic technician. Pelayo was recognized as an excellent and engaged
employee who consistently performs at the highest level in the preventive and
corrective maintenance of the facility’s Delivery Barcode System (DBCS)
platform machines.
Pelayo recently solved a very complicated fault in a
facility’s DBCS machine that had progressively gotten worse. Technicians on all three tours were attempting to solve the problem. Pelayo took the initiative and challenge and was ultimately
successful in repairing the DBCS machine. “The spot award was nice, but the
certificate and write-up signed by Maintenance Supervision as well as Senior
Plant Manager Ivonne Gonzalez meant the most to me and had the highest value,”
said Pelayo. “Thanks to SMO Desai
Abdul-Razzaaq for establishing an employee recognition and engagement program
for the facility.”
Congratulations, Joseph!
