Apopka Retail Associate Joe Crawley
(left) received his 40-year Service Award and pin from District Manager Eric
Chavez (right) during a
recognition event with his co-workers.
Crawley started his postal career as a
Letter Sorting Machine (LSM) Operator in the Orlando Post Office when it was
located off of East Colonial. He then went to work at the Orlando Processing
and Distribution Center (P&DC).
In 1981Crawley transferred to the Apopka
Post Office. He worked as a Retail Associate and became the first clerk in
Apopka to work in the Bulk Mail Entry Unit. Over his career, Crawley has earned
a Certificate of Appreciation and a monetary award for solving an
expansion issue with the gates.
His
passion is singing with his family in his church and his hobby is singing in a
Quartet. When Crawley introduces the members of the Quartet, he informs the
attendees that if he looks familiar, it could be because they may have seen him
at the Apopka Post Office serving
customers at the counter.
Crawley was joined by his wife (third
left) of 47 years, his three children and family members (above) to celebrate
the occasion.
Congratulations and thank you for your
service, Joe!
