Nearly 700 employees
attended the Suncoast District “Lifting Others” Career Conference July 28-29 in
Kissimmee, FL, setting a record as the largest attendance at a District Career
Conference in the nation. District Manager Eric Chavez hosted the
conference to provide employees with tools to manage their career paths and
achieve success. Attendees enjoyed a
weekend of activities that included Headquarters and Area keynote speakers,
educational workshops, eCareer reviews, networking, dining and dancing.
Suncoast District

employees to attend the workshops that best suited their career aspirations and
to network throughout the weekend.
Keynote Speaker USPS Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Executive Vice President David Williams (standing) shared his personal postal career journey, inspiring employees to set goals and work hard to achieve theirs.
The crowd (above) was
captivated by COO Williams’ remarks and were enthused when he told them to set
high goals, as one of them may possibly become the next Postmaster General.
Southern Area Vice
President Shaun Mossman (standing) shared valuable career advice and thanked
employees for their ongoing dedication and commitment.

Out workshop. Attendees learned the
importance of finding a way to stand out when seeking career advancement.

Leroy Middleton (standing right) provided guidance for preparing a professional
eCareer profile.
Orlando Postmaster Diane Tindle (standing) shared interviewing tips with attendees. Employees were offered a variety of workshops, including Individual Development Planning (IDP), Advanced Verbal Communications, Protecting Your Digital Life, Retirement Overview and Introduction to Career Enhancement Overview and others.
After a full day of
workshops and networking, employees (above) hit the dance floor during the
Black & White Attire Dance.
Senior Plant Manager Ivonne Gonzalez (standing) provided closing remarks and encouraged employees to continue to set goals to advance their careers.
