Megan J. Brennan has announced the appointment of Suncoast District Manager
Eric D. Chavez to Vice President, Area Operations, Northeast Area, effective
March 2.
“Eric is a highly effective
postal executive, an excellent leader and communicator, and a strong mentor and
motivator who elevates performance within the operations organizations he has
served. In his most recent role as District Manager of the Suncoast
District, Eric has achieved improvements in customer experience, safety, and
employee engagement,” said Brennan. “His extensive and varied operations career
has included roles as Manager of Operations Support for the Southern Area in
Dallas, Texas; Senior Plant Manager at the Tampa, Florida, Processing and
Delivery Center; Plant Manager at the West Palm Beach Processing and Delivery
Center; and Manager of Operations and Manager of Post Office Operations for the
Suncoast District. He has also served as a Postmaster for Chicago,
Illinois; Bradenton, Florida; and Silver Springs, Florida.”
Chavez began his postal
career in 1986 as a City Letter Carrier in Jacksonville, Florida. The
recipient of numerous postal awards, Chavez has twice won the PCES Superior
Achievement Award, and has received the PCES Individual Achievement Award and
the Vice Presidents Award. Chavez also received the 2017 National
Engagement Leader of the Year Award.
Chavez completed
business management programs at Harvard Business School and Northwestern University,
and earned a business management degree from the University of Phoenix.
He is also a graduate of the Postal Service’s Advanced Leadership Program and
the Executive Development Program, and is a certified Black Belt.
The Northeast Area has
45 plants, 4,000 delivery and retail units and approximately 90,000 employees.
The area includes New England, parts of New York and New Jersey, the U.S.
Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
