The Tampa Town N Country Post Office was dedicated in honor of Tampa native
Major Andreas O’Keeffe, pursuant to Public Law 115-381, introduced by U.S.
Rep. Kathy Castor. Major O’Keeffe gave his
life serving our country. He died with
six others at age 37 on March 15th, 2018 while serving during
Operation Inherent Resolve, when his helicopter crashed in western Iraq.
Tampa Manager Customer Service Operations (MSCO) Tim Dose (right) served as
the Master of Ceremonies for the dedication ceremony. “Andy O’Keeffe was one of the best examples
of a patriotic, brave American to ever call the Tampa Bay community home,” said
U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (left at podium). Castor introduced the bill to the U.S.
House of Representatives to dedicate the Post Office building.
Senior Military
Officer Master Sergeant Jaime R. Castro (left) and the University of South
Florida (USF) Army ROTC performed the Presentation of Colors. Major O’Keeffe was an alumnus of USF.
Tampa Postmaster Richard
Fermo (right) thanked Tampa Detective Belinda Denbigh of the Hillsborough
County Sheriff’s Office for singing the National Anthem at the dedication ceremony.
Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Officers (above)
attended to honor Major O’Keeffe. Many of
the officers present served in
the military prior to their law enforcement
careers.

Major O’Keeffe’s family
