Mid-FL
Processing & Distribution Center (P&DC) Mail Handler Gwendolyn Tindell
(front row, center) received her 45-year Service Award and pin from Acting
Plant Manager Joey Mendoza (right of Tindell). Tindell was surrounded by lots
of love from co-workers.
Tindell
affectionately known as “Mama Gwen” began her postal career on April 17, 1974
in Newark, New Jersey. She transferred
to Mid-FL P&DC as a Letter Sorting Machine (LSM) Clerk in December 1990. In
1991 she became a Mail Handler and currently works as a Business Mail Entry Mail
Handler Support Employee. She is also a U. S. Navy veteran.
Tindell
enjoys her job and co-workers and has accrued over 2,500 hours of Sick Leave. “It
is a blessing to not have needed to use the sick leave,” stated Mama Gwen. When
asked, what words of wisdom she
has for her peers, she affectionately advised: “Work safely! Treat others how
you would want to
be treated and a little respect goes a long way.”
Thank
you for over 45 years of loyalty and dedication to the Navy and Postal
Service, Mama Gwenl!
