Cape Coral Rural Letter Carrier Lori Lanzissero (left) was
presented the National Safety Council’s Million Mile Safe Driver Award from Fort
Myers Postmaster Nefty Pluguez (right). Mrs Lanzissero received the prestigious
award for driving over 1,000,000 miles without an at fault accident. The
ceremony was held outside to achieve social distancing in this large office. As
Pluguez handed the award to Mrs Lanzissero he commented, “This is the
culmination of all of the hard work, the standup talks, the culture we are
fostering. When I give out one of these awards it means that all of that meant
something and that Mrs Lanzissero understands the importance of safety”.
After the award ceremony in front of her co-workers, Lori shared
in her success with a cake (above).
