Fort Myers Letter Carrier, Mark Cook (above), received his
retirement certificate from Fort Myers Postmaster, Nefty Pluguez (not pictured).
Mark Cook has been serving his community loyally for over 6 years and has
worked for the Postal Service for over 33 years. “Your dedication to our
customers is unmeasured and your enthusiasm for mentoring our newly hired
carriers will be missed”, commented Pluguez. During Mark’s last day delivering
mail a special community decided to send him off with balloons at every box.
During the festivities that day Mr. Cook’s wife, Holly Cook
(left) joined her husband in honoring his career with the United States Postal
Service.
The community (above) erupted in applause to thank Mark for
all of his years of service. “He was the constant in our community. During this
pandemic I can go all day without seeing someone, but I know he’s coming and
that brings me hope”, commented Nancy Hill (far right), one of Cook’s customers
that was present during the farewell.
Mr. Cook (above) was also interviewed by NBC2 news to
document his contribution to his community and the outreach of the community in
honoring him on his last day.
Thank you for your years of service. Happy Retirement Mark!
