Bill Huber created a “Freshman Friday” initiative program to assist City
Carrier Assistants (CCA) in fine tuning their safety skills while delivering
mail.
“We focus on different exercises every Friday, such as dog bite prevention, proper lifting techniques, and how to properly back your vehicle,” said Huber. Other topics include staying hydrated, preventing slips, trips and falls, and how to practice good housekeeping.
“Some of our station’s CCAs begin their tour later in the day,” he added. “This program has proven a perfect way for us to communicate to keep them informed with required service and safety talks they might have otherwise missed.”
