The
best part about working at the Postal Service are the people and the
memories, says Avon Park, FL, Postmaster Tonya
Schmidt (left), who is thinking of retirement.
“This
was a photo taken when I was a city carrier in Sebring. We were gathered for
fellow carrier Barbara Webber who was retiring.”
During
her nearly 32-year career, Schmidt has been
an OIC or Postmaster in every Highlands County post
office, including Avon Park, Sebring, Lake Placid, Lorida and
Venus.
Schmidt
has served at her current position since May 2016. The Level 21
office has 15 routes – 5 city and 10 rural.
Her
favorite thing about Avon Park? The employees, hands down.
