National Postal Workers Day

District Manager Eric Chavez

District Manager Eric Chavez issued the following Direct Line to all Suncoast District employees:

July 1 is celebrated by many as National Postal Workers Day.  It can be traced back to 1997, when a former postal employee in the Seattle District thought of the idea of having a day to recognize postal workers.

Although the employee’s idea did not go through the process to become an official day of recognition, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all employees for their dedication and commitment to the Postal Service and, specifically, to the Suncoast District.

In addition to working day in and day out to provide excellent mail service, you have shown your commitment to the communities we serve.  Suncoast earned #1 in the nation for the 2016 Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive – for the eighth consecutive year!  We are also consistently #1 with the Toys For Tots Drive.  And, your contributions to the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) are among the best.

We have many reasons to celebrate in Suncoast.  Many of you have been honored with Hero Awards, Million Mile Safe Driver Awards, Gold Star Awards, Perfect Attendance Awards and Operational Awards.  You have shown your dedication to managing costs, improving service and growing revenue.  All of these things contribute to building a great team.

I sincerely thank you for your diligent job performance and want you to know that you are appreciated.  Please enjoy the pastry treats as a token of appreciation.

Thank You Suncoast Team!
