Honoring Veterans

Message From Suncoast District Manager Eric Chavez

On Friday, November 11, we will observe Veterans Day.

The Postal Service pays tribute to the men and women who have worn the uniform of the United States Armed Forces – Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy and Marines.  Nationwide the Postal Service employs approximately 113,000 veterans, which is nearly 18% of our workforce.

On behalf of the U. S. Postal Service, Suncoast District, I extend a sincere “thank you” to all veterans.  Our veteran employees have demonstrated their commitment and service to our country, and bring that same dedication and commitment to their Postal Service employment.

As we do each year, we will hold a variety of veterans’ recognition events throughout the district.  This year we will also present a beautifully designed lapel pin to each veteran’s preference employee in the Suncoast District.

The pin serves as a “thank you” for the many contributions our veterans have made while serving our nation and for providing excellent service to our postal customers.

Please take a moment to thank your co-workers who have served our nation and demonstrated an incomparable love of country.  They have earned our respect and gratitude.

“Thank you” to all Suncoast District veteran employees.  We salute you.
