Martin Honored In Edgewater



Edgewater Letter Carrier Steve Martin (above) was honored by his fellow postal family and was presented a Veterans Pin received from Postmaster General Megan Brennan.  A picture of Martin, when he was stationed in Germany at 22, is in the upper right corner of the display cabinet.

Martin will be retiring this coming year and has proudly served his country and the USPS. “We are honored here in Edgewater to have him as a Letter Carrier for 34 years”, stated Postmaster Roberta Stevens-Simmons. Other veterans honored but not pictured were Supervisor, Customer Services Cameron Wood and Retail Associate Robert Brown III.

Refreshments were served to all employees at the recognition.

Ventura Earns SOAR Award



Orlando Ventura Post Office earned the Suncoast Orlando Achievement Recognition (SOAR) Award for the month of October in FY18. Postmaster Timothy Holmes (right) presented the SOAR Award to the employees of Ventura. The SOAR award uses 15 indicators to comprise an overall score for the Orlando offices. Ventura worked together as a team to achieve the recognition.

Whiting Earns Customers Praise



Apollo Post Office Rural Carrier James Whiting (right) was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation from Manager Post Office Operations John Rhoden (left). The certificate was signed by District Manager (DM) Eric Chavez (not pictured).  DM Eric Chavez received a letter from a customer thanking Whiting for his hard work, delivering the mail right up until Hurricane Irma and then delivering again right after the hurricane passed.


Apollo Post Office employees gathered around to congratulate James Whiting on his recognition.

30 Years For David

West Melbourne Celebrates Veterans And More

On this day, West Melbourne postal employees took a moment to honor and thank our service members and remembered their sacrifices they have made and the courage to defend our country and freedom.


Custodian Gary Miserendino (center) is retiring December 1, 2017, with 33 years of credible service. He was presented with his Retirement Certificate by MPOO John Rhoden (right) and Manager, Customer Services Gia DeLeo (left). Gary celebrated with his fellow employees who stated, “Gary will be missed, and we all wish him good health and happiness in this next chapter of his life.” Gary looks forward to visiting his grandson in Montana during the holidays.


Letter Carrier Michael Clark (center) was presented with his 3,000 Hour Sick Leave plaque from MPOO John Rhoden (right) and MCS Gia DeLeo (left). Mike went on to inform his fellow employees the importance of saving their sick leave in the event of an illness, which would prevent them from coming to work, but still earn a paycheck. Mike is also the Customer Connect Coordinator for the West Melbourne Branch, and is very involved in obtaining leads for revenue generation.

A celebration with food and refreshments was had by all employees in West Melbourne.

Veterans Honored



Tampa Interbay Station A/Manager Frank Snyder (back row, second left) and Tampa Postmaster Richard Fermo (front row, left) held a Veterans recognition presentation to honor veterans for their service, commitment and sacrifice.  Each veteran was presented a recognition letter and pin from Postmaster General Megan Brennan. 


St. Petersburg Gateway Station veterans were also honored by their coworkers at a presentation and received a celebratory cake after the ceremony.

Alafaya Honors Veterans



Orlando Alafaya Post Office Distribution Clerk Tom King retired Navy (left) and Letter Carrier Carlos Oviedo Army Reserves (right) presented the colors to begin the Veterans Day recognition. District Manager (DM) Eric Chavez (second right) and Postmaster Timothy Holmes (second left) attended the celebration.

  
Marion, the wife of Letter Carrier Decarlo Sabedra (center), who recently passed away, came to honor her late husband and accepted his Veterans Certificate. DM Chavez (left) and Postmaster Holmes (right) showed their appreciation to Ms. Sabedra for her husband’s dedication to the military and the postal service.

Alafaya Awards Day



Orlando Alafaya Letter Carriers were recognized for earning the National Safety Council’s prestigious Million Mile Safe Driver Award for driving over 1,000,000 miles without an at-fault accident.

Winter Park Veterans Celebration

 

Manager Post Office Operations (MPOO) C Janice Walters (red jacket) read Postmaster General Megan Brennan’s letter to the veterans and employees of Winter Park Main Office.  Janice has numerous veterans in her family, including her dad who served in WWII and was part of the D Day invasion, her mom served in the Army and her brothers served. So veterans hold a special place in her heart.
