Gornik Retired




Manasota Processing & Distribution Center (P&DC) Plant Manager Deborah (Debbie) Gornik (above) proudly displays the framed flag she received during her retirement recognition event.  Gornik retired after 31 years of service.  She began her postal career as a City Carrier and served in various supervisory positions, eventually becoming Manager, Customer Services at the Clearwater, FL, Post Office.  She held several Postmaster positions, including Fort Myers Beach, FL; New Port Richey, FL; Largo, FL; Tampa, FL and Jacksonville, FL.

Gornik also sharpened her skills in mail processing during a number of assignments, including Acting Manager of the Seminole P&DC.  She also served many detail assignments, including Southern Area Manager, Delivery Programs and Southern Area Manager, In-Plant Support, before her appointment as Manasota Plant Manager.

“The Postal Service owes her a debt of gratitude for her service, loyalty, and dedication, and we wish her many years of a happy and healthy retirement,” said Southern Area Vice President Operations Shaun Mossman, upon announcing Gornik’s retirement.
