Letter Writing Is Fun

Spring is in the air and so is the spirit of letter writing.  Recently at Tampa’s MacFarlane Park Elementary School, Mrs. Domeiers’  2nd grade students were shown how to write a letter.  They were asked to choose a friend or family member and share with them what they were doing in school that day.  The children addressed their own envelopes and placed a stamp on the letter to mail.  For many students this was the first time that they had written a letter.

Writing, sending and receiving letters, postcards, and greeting cards is a tradition that has preserved our nation's history. Unlike other communications, card and letter writing is timeless, personal, and immediately tangible. “It was so much fun writing a letter today,” stated one of the children.
