Chavez Named National Engagement Leader of the Year

Suncoast District Manager Eric Chavez (above) is pictured with his 2018 National Engagement Leader of the Year Award, which he received from Postmaster General (PMG) Megan Brennan during a ceremony at USPS Headquarters on July 31.

Chavez was recognized for his efforts to foster a work environment where employees can thrive on a daily basis. He’s known for mentoring and coaching employees and holding team-building workshops.

The National Engagement Leader of the Year Award honors employees who foster enthusiasm, involvement and commitment among their teams and peers. The award is part of the Postal Service’s broader efforts to engage, equip and empower employees, a core business strategy. Winners are selected from employee nominations.  Employees can nominate EAS or PCES employees in a leadership position with direct reports within any Postal Service function.

“I am extremely proud to be the District Manager of such a great group of employees,” said Chavez.  “What Suncoast employees do day in and day out is why I was presented with this prominent award.  I want to thank each and every employee for all of the hard work and dedication they put forth every day.  Suncoast is the best team in the country.”
