Mount Dora Letter Carrier Ernest Thayer (left) was honored by Postmaster General (PMG) Louis DeJoy with the PMG Hero Commendation Award. Postmaster Lynn Blanton (right) presented the award in front of co-workers and thanked Thayer for his heroic actions. Thayer was on his route when he went to the aide of a customer who required immediate medical assistance. “Thank you for being the eyes and ears of our community”, stated Blanton.
