More than a dozen Post Offices in Tampa kicked off a new
local package and mail delivery service available to postal customers in the
city.
“What’s great about USPS Connect is local customers can get
same-day shipping if they drop off their packages and mail between 5:00 and
7:00 a.m.,” said Tampa Postmaster Jackie Villemaire. “We created the program to
help small businesses provide local customers with easy and affordable same-day
and next-day delivery. There is no approval process or eligibility requirements
to use the service, and it offers reduced shipping costs and free supplies.”
Ribbon-cutting participants included, above from left: Rural
Carrier Sharon McCommons, Letter Carrier Winston Edwards II, business
owner Michelle Guarino (Sluiceboy Prospecting), Tampa Postmaster Jackie
Villemaire, Acting Manager, Customer Services Yunior Bonnebal, Rural Carrier
John Beckwith, Retail Associate Yvette Landers and Rural Carrier John Mobley.
“At a time in our country when you’re paying
more for gas or food or housing, the Postal Service’s Delivering for America
plan is dropping rates like never before. It’s an awesome opportunity to help
our small businesses get big business discounted rates.” –
