Avon Lake Tops For Food Drive
Avon Park employees (above) were honored to be recognized for their contributions to the Stamp Out Hunger 2018 Food Drive. Chavez Named Northeast Area Acting Vice President
Suncoast District
Manager Eric Chavez (above) has been appointed Northeast Area’s Acting Vice
President, effective February 2. The Northeast Area has 45 plants, 4,000
delivery and retail units and approximately 90,000 employees.
The Northeast Area includes New England, parts of New York and New Jersey, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Edward F. Phelan Jr., the current Northeast Area Vice President, will retire on February 3, after 39 years of service with the U.S. Postal Service.

Wise And Leading the Way
“I keep an
EDDM brochure handy at all times when I’m at the retail window. It has all the
information I need to guide and assist the business customer who is a potential
lead,” Wise says. In addition to delivering excellent service at the retail
counter, Wise looks for opportunities to promote USPS products when she’s out
and about. In FY18, she submitted leads through the Clerks Care program
that resulted in $1,974,134 in new revenue. “Leads are everywhere,” said
a smiling Wise.

Bobbi’s Lead Pays Off
St. Petersburg Gateway Station Manager, Customer Services
Bobbi Ison recently was assisting a customer in the lobby when she shared
information about Every Door Direct Mail (EDDM). She explained how the customer could utilize
it to market and promote their business.
Ison also inquired about the customers’ current method of shipping and
discovered that they were using a competitor.
She submitted the lead into the Employee Engagement Program (EEP). The customer was contacted and this lead
resulted in a total of $170,719 in new revenue in Priority Mail and International
First Class package service for the Postal Service.

Gaffney Retires After 33 Years
